Details and answers to some of your questions...
What's the deal with the birds?
The birds on our save the date are mandarin ducks. It's said that mandarin ducks mate for life and in Asian culture, they are symbolic of life long love and loyalty. They're beautiful birds and the image that we have is of a Chinese paper-cut of a pair of ducks. Chinese paper cutting itself is a unique and lovely form of art that is used decoratively in celebrations.
What is New York City like in September?
September is a great time to be in New York! The weather is beautiful - it's been typically around 80 degrees and sunny (according to The Weather Channel website). There's always a lot happening around the city...if you happen to be a big tennis fan, you're in luck because the US Open starts August 30th and runs through September 12th at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadow Park. Because our wedding will be held Labor Day weekend, many New Yorkers may be away from the city to enjoy the last weekend of the summer at the shore. At the same time, you'll still see plenty of the natives out and about, catching some rays in Central Park!
